This Thursday the 1st of May, you can save your trip down Albany Highway for later as wines from the Great Southern region will be available for tasting at the Perth Town Hall. Also available are spirits from the boutique distillery Great Southern Distilling Company and a range of local olive oils, jams, chutneys and hand-made specialty cheeses.

4pm-8pm Thursday 1st May at the Perth Town Hall (cnr Barrack and Hay)
Tickets: $20 at the door, which includes a tasting glass.

The Bickley-Carmel Harvest Festival is this weekend the 3rd and 4th of May and offers the opportunity to enjoy yourself in this unique wine and fruit producing area just on Perth's doorstep. You can taste the local wines as well as talk with the winemakers. You'll also be able to enjoy the fabulous local produce. The event kicks off with a fundraising event for Muscular Dystrophy at Myattsfield Vineyard on Friday night.

This year's César Award (French Oscar) for Best Picture went to Abdellatif Kechiche's Secret of the Grain. Luna Palace Cinemas are kindly offering some double passes to Spice readers.
